While working at Eight Arms 🐙 along side designer Liz Hamburger 🍔 we developed a new eCommerce site for nutritional coach and yoga teacher Ellen Cepeda. The site had to reflect Ellen’s bold and vibrant nature, feature a blog and digital store – all managed within a CMS.

WordPress & The REST API

WordPress was the CMS of choice for this project. I used the WordPress REST API to build masonry style layout for the ‘inspiration’ page building the views on the front end, rather than using AJAX calls.

WooCommerce

One of the key features of the site was the ability for Ellen to be able to sell digital downloads of her nutritional guides via a simple and intuitive interface, provided via WooCommerce.

Custom Plugin

The footer of the site features feeds from multiple Pinterest boards. Many of the existing Pinterest plugins do not allow multiple boards and are often resource heavy. I created a custom plugin, combining multiple feeds on the server side and caching the results via WordPress transients to provide a performant and reliable widget.
